flydubai enhances data-driven decision making with ELB
As part of the industry’s broader digital transformation, airlines are increasingly swapping their paper logbooks for electronic ones. This change is increasing accuracy, enhancing security, and driving efficiency across operations.
It was recently announced that flydubai is making the switch, transitioning to a new digital logbook as part of its partnership with Ultramain Systems.
This shift will elevate the airline’s data accessibility for pilots and engineers, fostering convenience and collaboration across the organisation.
Ultrammain ELB operates in the flight deck on installed EFB, notebooks, tablets and in the cabin on smart phones, tablets and IFE, driving efficiency by eliminating the need for manual scanning of paper log pages.
Christian Hall, Vice President of Engineering at flydubai, said:

ATW Europe 2025 to spotlight AI-driven operations, autonomous aviation, and cybersecurity
Aerospace Tech Week (ATW) Europe, the premier event dedicated to aerospace technology, is set to return on 2-3 April 2025 at the MOC Event Center Messe München

Honeywell and NPX: “Creating autonomous avionics that can sense, think and act.”
Honeywell and NXP® Semiconductors N.V. are expanding their partnership to develop AI-driven aerospace technology and build solid foundations for autonomous flight.
NXP’s domain-based architecture, with high-compute capabilities and enhanced cybersecurity, will be adapted for Honeywell Anthem – the industry’s first cloud connected cockpit system. Combining the expertise of Honeywell and NXP® Semiconductors N.V. will enhance safety and efficiency on the road to autonomous aviation.
Speaking on the potential of this partnership, Kurt Sievers, President and CEO, NXP Semiconductors explained:
“Bringing avionics closer to autonomous flight requires a unique combination of high-performance processing and AI, advanced connectivity and security, and functional safety. NXP’s broad portfolio and systems solutions approach makes us a natural partner for Honeywell on the journey towards creating innovative, intelligent and autonomous avionics that can sense, think and act.”
Honeywell Anthem will leverage NXP’s i.MX 8 processors and S32N for quicker data processing to support “real-time AI-driven insights.” eVTOL aircraft developer Vertical Aerospace is set to benefit from this further collaboration as it tests the VX4 prototype, featuring Honeywell Anthem.
According to the press release, the companies will also:
- Advance large-area displays for next-generation cockpits focusing on visual clarity and system efficiency.
- Look at simplifying migrations to newer avionic technologies
- Work on extending the lifecycle of “critical aviation technologies”
